• What is CBD?

CBD is short for cannabidiol.  CBD is a powerful plant extract that has been used for wellness for thousands of years.  It is one of many cannabinoids in hemp that has a variety of effects on our body’s endocannabinoid system.  Our bodies, as well as animals, actually produce endocannabinoids naturally.

  • What does the endocannabinoid system do?

The endocannabinoid system supports sleep, skin, mood regulation, appetite and digestion, memory, muscles and joints, and other systems that help support homeostasis and balance within the body in both humans and animals.

  • Where is your CBD oil sourced from?

We believe in supporting the hemp farmers and workers right here in the U.S.A!  100% of our CBD oil is grown using organic farming practices under strict guidelines from our partner hemp farms in Colorado.  Our hemp oil is NEVER from any questionable sources from outside the U.S.

  • Do you 3rd party lab test?

Of course we do!  Every single batch of our CBD products are tested through third-party labs for your safety and reassurance.  We're big on transparency, so you can find our CBD lab results posted for every product we offer by clicking here

If you've already placed an order, check out the"Trace my CBD" page to view the lab reports.  Just match the batch number on the product to the corresponding CBD lab report.

  • Do you offer CBD products with free shipping?

Yes, all of our retail customers get FREE standard shipping to all 50 states.

If you want something expedited, you can opt to pay for that upgrade of course.  But that's your call.

  • Do you have an affiliate or influencer program?

We're totally working on that and expect to launch super soon!  If you're interested, please contact us here and we'll put you on the "super cool people to reach out to as soon as it's set up" list.

  • What is the difference between hemp-derived CBD and marijuana?

Although they share some similar genetics from the cannabis family, CBD from hemp and marijuana are two entirely different plants.

Marijuana has wider leaves, grows lower to the ground and contains higher amounts of THC, the psychoactive component that produces the feeling of getting high.  If a high feeling is what you're looking for, you won't find it here.

Hemp has thin leaves, grows tall and is bred to be high in CBD and low in THC.  You may have already purchased hemp products in the form of hemp seeds, vegan protein powder, hemp milk, clothing, jewelry, etc.    Our CBD products are also sourced from hemp.

  • Will this get me or my pet high?

Nada.  Aall of our products test at 0.0% THC.  Unlike marijuana, our CBD products for pets and people are non-psychotropic and extremely unlikely to cause a high.

  • Do any of your products contain THC?

Every part of our process, from our superior hemp farming to our third-party testing, is done to ensure a safe product.  All of our products are derived from hemp and test 0.0% for THC.  So any possibility of a high is completely removed.

  • Is  CBD good for treating anxiety?  Or inflammation, pain, etc?

While we strongly believe in the benefits of our broad spectrum CBD and nano water soluble CBD formulas, no CBD companies are able to make treatment claims for any specific disease or illness.

Always seek the advice of your physician, veterinarian, or other qualified health professional with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition.

  • How can I purchase CBD products for me and my fur-family?

  • What's the difference between full-spectrum, broad-spectrum and isolate CBD?

CBD is usually either full-spectrum, broad-spectrum or isolate.

Full spectrum products contain all of the cannabinoids, terpenes and other beneficial compounds.  Often touted to have an "entourage effect," there are currently no significant studies we're aware of that proves the trace amounts of THC in full spectrum CBD have any additional benefits.

For most  pet parents, products containing THC are a deal-breaker because ALL  FULL -SPECTRUM CBD PRODUCTS CONTAIN SMALL AMOUNTS OF THC.  THC can be toxic to dogs and horses in certain quantities, which is why we don't believe in giving full-spectrum CBD products to ANY animals, especially our fur-family.

Any "full spectrum" cbd products contain small but significant amounts of THC, since most lab tests will deem it ND or "non-detectable" if under .03%.  The  .03% THC amount was designed  specifically for humans, and not enough research has been done to determine a safe amount, if any, exists for pets.

If a full spectrum CBD product states 0% THC, it's likely mislabeled.  Sadly, the University of Pennsylvania found that 70% of CBD products were mislabeled.

When it comes to the safety of our furry sidekicks, we invest in having the THC extracted.  We're pet parents too - and a little geeky, OCD and extremely picky when it comes to our pets.  So when we found that most companies and manufacturers just weren't cutting it, we created something we could believe in and something we felt safe giving to our own fur-family.  And we lab test every batch and post the results for added transparency.

    Gotta walk the walk, right?

Hence the decision to go with broad spectrum and nano-emulsified cbd products for pets and people.  More expensive for us?  Yes.  But right?  We think so.  We value the safety of our furry friends as well as yours as waaaay more important that additional profits that would occur by selling full spectrum cbd oils.

We think it's totally cool for humans... just NOT for pets.

    We digress...

    Back to broad spectrum.

Broad spectrum formulas contains the entire spectrum of natural cannabinoids and terpenes, so you get everything you would in a full spectrum cbd product, just without the THC.

Nano-emulsified formulas can be pure CBD or broad spectrum in nature, with 80-90% greater absorption due to the smaller "nano" particle size.  Nano works faster, is more effective and tastes better when compared to similar products - so you and your best friend can relax as you'll probably need to use less CBD over the long-run... though when that happens to us, it usually results in buying more dog and cat toys.

Think of regular CBD oil particles as similar to all of the pieces of fluff your dog pulls out of the new stuffed toy you just got him or her.

And the nano CBD size being closer to all of the pieces of soil they just tracked all over your floor from digging in your garden.  (No, that totally did not just happen to to us today)...   The smaller size soil is absorbed much easier into your carpet than the fluff.  Same concept with the body - but with CBD.

    Make sense now?

  • So what type of CBD does H+P Natural Wellness and Hand and Paw use?

All Hand and Paw products test at 0.0% THC.  H+P Natural Wellness Pet Parent formulas are all broad spectrum with the exception of the roll-on which is a pure nano-emulsified CBD

Both our H+P Natural Wellness and Hand and Paw softgels are nano-broad spectrum formulas. These contain the entire spectrum of natural cannabinoids and terpenes that you would find in a full spectrum cbd product, but without the THC.

Hand and Paw's tinctures and pet chews are made using our nano-emulsified formula, which is a pure form of CBD with a greater absorption rate due to smaller hemp extract droplets, allowing them to be more easily absorbed into the body.

Nano not only works faster, is more effective, and tastes better when compared to other CBD products, but is also more economical. You’ll get the same results from a much smaller amount of our nano-emulsified CBD than you would from regular CBD from competitors (80-90% absorption rate compared to 35%).

  • Do I need a prescription?

Not at all.  You can put your insurance card away.

All of our hemp-derived CBD are THC-FREE and no prescription is necessary.

If you have insurance for your dog or cat, however, it certainly won't hurt to ask if CBD is covered under your policy as a natural alternative.  Feel free to ask us if any additional info is needed.

  • What is the shelf life of CBD?

Since our CBD oil is naturally derived from the hemp plant and grown using organic farming practices, most CBD products have a shelf life of between 12-24 months, depending on the product.  Most Hand and Paw and H+P Natural Wellness products are approximately 18 months.  The easy way to tell how much time is left is to check the product label or sticker or imprint on the back or bottom of the product.

Not to worry - CBD is best used on a regular basis, so most customers never even get close to that time-frame.

To preserve freshness, keep CBD products in a cool dry place, away from direct sunlight and humidity.  Though it can be stored in the refrigerator, it is not necessary.

  • I am a veterinarian/health or pet store owner/pet shelter/foster program/pet rescue organization/groomer, etc.  Can we partner up?

We love that you want to help others find their calm and happy place with our CBD.

Please apply for our wholesale program by clicking here.

  • Is the pet formula just for dogs and cats, or can I also give it to my other pets?

While the salmon based formulas are designed for dogs and cats, so long as the pet is able to consume each of the ingredients and has no allergies to any of the ingredients, it can also be given to other animals, large or small.  If you're unsure, please consult with your veterinarian.

Since CBD is dose-based, the serving size would just change based on species,  weight, and the specific needs  of the animal.  The product description and labeling will give you a baseline of where to start based on weight.  The adjust up or down according to the animal's condition and needs.

  • Will I pass a drug test if taking CBD?

Most drug tests measure THC.  Unlike full spectrum CBD, our products test at 0.0% THC.

That being said... word on the street is that some drug tests haven't yet been changed to account for entire differences between the components in marijuana vs. hemp, as well as the different consumption, absorption and metabolization rates of each individual.

So... the honest answer is that although we think it's  unlikely, we really don't know.  There's just not enough data in the industry at this point to say anything for sure.  So we recommend not using any type of CBD products until you are in the clear - just in case.  Unless you really hate your job and don't mind risking it.  But we accept no responsibility or liability if you choose to make that decision.
