About Certificates of Analysis (COA's) for CBD
What is a COA for CBD? A Certificate of Analysis (COA) for CBD is a document from an accredited laboratory that shows the amount of cannabidiol and/or other measured items in a specific product.
How do I calculate the amount of CBD on a lab report? While some reports list the quantity or CBD per serving or container, other reports may require calculations to arrive at the total amount per serving or container. In this case, the sample batch size is specified under each item. With CBD, a variance is expected.
What types of labs are used for CBD products? Different labs may be used depending on their equipment and product testing capabilities. Infused gummies, for example, require labs with specific equipment for testing infused CBD edibles in order to produce accurate test results. Coated gummies, by contrast, could be tested accurately using different equipment.
